Strategy Reports 19.5 Billion Dollars in Quarterly Profit: Where the Numbers Come From

Where the profit came from

The main source is the fair value remeasurement of bitcoin. Since 2025, US companies have carried crypto on their balance sheets at market price, so the quarter's price gain goes straight into the income statement.

Against this backdrop, the operating business is modest. Revenue was 125.4 million dollars versus expectations of about 128 million, slightly below the forecast.

In our view, this is good news with an obvious caveat. The profit honestly reflects the growth in the value of holdings, but it is a paper profit: if the price falls, the remeasurement will work in reverse.

Bitcoin holdings

At the end of the quarter, Strategy held 848,517 BTC. The average purchase price is 75,446 dollars, and the total cost basis is about 64 billion.

During the quarter, the company bought 7,218 BTC and sold 5,552 BTC. Net purchases for the quarter came to 1,666 coins.

The dollar reserve is 5.1 billion. We believe a cushion like this reduces pressure on the company during periods when bitcoin is falling.

Dividends, buyback and a CFO change

  • the company approved daily dividend payments on preferred shares
  • Strategy disclosed a 204.9 million dollar buyback of STRC preferred shares
  • CFO Andrew Kang is leaving on November 5
  • Phong Le will replace him on an interim basis

What Saylor says

Strategy executive chairman Michael Saylor called the current moment the start of the next bitcoin bull market. This is his personal view, not a conclusion from the report.

What this means for an arbitrage trader

From what we see, reports from large bitcoin holders draw the market's attention, and volatility often rises on such days.

If the price moves sharply after the release, gaps between venues can widen for a while. Before entering a trade, it is worth calculating fees and transfer time in advance.

Our tools

On days of high-profile earnings, exchange prices react at different speeds, and the gap is easier to spot when every venue is visible in one window. Our arbitrage screener keeps dozens of venues in one window, refreshes quotes every second and shows each gap together with the volume actually behind it. The spread calculator helps you check what survives fees, network costs and slippage at your size. The bot is fully manual. It never connects to your exchange API keys.
